New 6095

Shawn is correct, the first shipment will arrive to us on the 7th and dealers should start to get them the following week.

does the 6095 have a different power supply then the 6055? I like to keep an backup power supply on hand just in case.

Same power supply and the first ones will arrive this Friday in our warehouse, dealers should start to get them at the end of next week.

Got mine all hooked up, the power supplies must be the same as the new 6055's as they are different then mine (slider vs jumper). The flow on the 6095 is great, wide and good reach as well. The outlet is noticeably bigger but the amount of flow from such a small footprint is amazing. One question, when I had my 6055's hooked up to the same program they had a fish saver mode, the the 6095's don't seem to have that?

Roger, I'd like to buy 2 6095 Shrouds to widen the flow of my 6055's. Do the shrouds also come with the "grating"? If not where can I buy 2 Shrouds and 2 grating covers please?

What size tank are you running them on and what types of coral do you have?

It is the same power supply as the 6055 which can deliver 30W. The older 6055 power supply used a sliding switch the newer one a jumper set up but this is a current transition so both exist now. Fish Care has been modified to reduce noise, it used to be defined by time, i.e. the pump would run .10 seconds every 20 seconds and this has been changed to where it is defined by rotations, 1/4-1/2 turn, so it is a barely perceptible twitch.

The spare parts are not available yet and typically aren't available for the first few weeks after a product release. The grating is the 6080.200 and would not be included with the shroud which my best guess is it would have part number 6095.130.

120 gallon 47.24L x 31.49W x 19.69H. Mixed reef softies, NPS, SPS and a few LPS. I have the SPS near the top and fairly close to each of the 6095's. I was running 6055's and these are a big bump up.

Roger thanks for the response, loving the new pumps!

Just picked one of these up at Reefapalooza yesterday. This is my first Tunze pump, and everyone raves about their quietness. I'm wondering what I should be expected to hear (or not hear).

It seems that my pump has a clicking noise, its low and I can only hear it if I get close to the pump.

I also have a Koralia 1050 on the other side and I can't hear anything on that one, that's why I'm wondering if this is normal on the 6095.

EDIT: Listened to it again, and its not so much a clicking noise but more of a vibrational rattling noise. Low but loud enough if you are listening for it.

They usually do need a couple weeks to break in. I have had Tunze pumps I would consider loud turn to silent after several days of running.

As Jim said, give it some time, it will be at its quietest after 2 weeks and it is a stronger pump than the Korallia and the stronger a pump is the more noise it will tend to make, so it is likely the Korallia will be a bit quieter. Do check that the front cover is on securely.

I'm building a 36wx36lx18h cube. It will sort of have an island in the middle. I was thinking of tryng to create a gyre, using either 6105 or 6125. Its a $75 difference for the option of control? I am trying to do this with only 2 pumps. Which should I go with, or 6095? It will be mixed, sps upper part of island, lps clams low.

By gyre, I should say I want to run one pump for say 15-20 mins so water in the tank will hopefully go CCW, then switch that pump off and then the other on, so the gyre goes Clockwise. Can I do this with two pumps?

6105 is really about $105 more when you consider that the 6125 includes a much stronger magnet holder (up to 1") and that is part of the extra cost. This is a tough call. 6095 will not have any appreciative bounce back or loop of flow, the flow is 36" by 30" it will just fill the tank. 6055 would reach 4ft by 18" and while weaker, would do the job better than 6095. 6105 at 12V would reach about 4ft by 24" and is likely the best bet, to get the rotation of flow you want it needs to be a more focused flow I think, the wide flow of the 6125 or 6105 with wide flow nozzle wouldn't really get a rotation, it would just bounce straight back.

I have a 80 gallon mixed reef that is 48"L x 15"D x 24H. What set of Tunze pumps would you recommend?

Thanks
