New 9002 pump performance vs old

I have the opportunity to buy a gently used 9002 with the old pump. I'm wondering if the 9002 with the newer pump is a wiser choice. I don't mind spending a few extra bucks if the newer model is worth it.
Could you tell me the benefits of the newer pump over the old in regards to performance and energy useage?

The new pump uses 8W the old one used 10W so the difference is marginal. The new pump is a bit quieter and has a marginal increase in flow (about 5gph). The main reason to get the new one is the old pump will likely cease to be available in a year or two and the new pump won't fit in the old body.
