New Acro Frag...How to Mount??

I picked up a nice ORA Cali Tort frag for $10...it was in the $10 tank at a LFS in a city I drove through today...wow, huh?

Anyhow, it was a piece that was knocked off of a large colony and was left sitting in the sand bed for a while, so some of the tissue at the bottom died.

Basically I have a 2.5" frag, but the bottom 1/4" is just a skeleton...I can't get a pic right now b/c the lights in the tank just went off...

Can I mount it "as is" and the tissue regrow over the old skeleton at the base?

Or should I cut off that bottom portion?

Eather way will work. But I would cut the dead part away so it will encrust to your rock faster and not get nocked off.

Ok, I should've mentioned that it branches right after the dead part...so if I clip it, it will turn into two frags....hmmm, the little one for a plug and the big one for my rock....:strooper:

Just glue them side by side, they will melt together and become 1. It will make a better base that away also.
