New addition being harrassed

I have a 150 gallon reef with a mystery wrasse, rhomboid wrasse, naokoa wrasse, rosy scale wrasse, lineatis wrasse and a pair of picasso clowns. I just introduced a supermale red margin wrasse. After 5 minutes, my lineatus, rosy scale and mystery started chasing after him. All wrasses are full grown except for the rhomboid and naokoa. Am I overreacting or does this situation just need time? I don't think my tank is way overcrowded, is it?

I have a large male temminik and a hoevens wrasse with two cleaner shrimp. They could care less about the shrimp.

+1. I would also think about getting rid of the mystery wrasse. They have a terrrible track record with fairy wrasses.

All of yours (maybe except the mystery wrasse) will ignore shrimp. Size of breeders cup, perhaps 4x4x7 (inches wxhxl)

that is not a very helpful comment. Either way whats done is done.
I tend to overfeed for a few days to allow all to come out and be together at once. Still a little aggression insues but it usually eases things. Then i water change a little more after everything is better.

It will help him next time before he adds another fish. The best solution to a problem is preventing it from happening.

I think adding a couple more wrasses would do the trick. It will distribute the aggression towards multiple fishes instead of one. Make another impulse purchase... hehehe

+2 on this as well and even more so in your case with the lineatus and rubrimarginatus looking so much alike..i also agree about the mystery and you have some very nice and expensive fairys hate to see them killed

excellent advice guys.. Ive been thinking about removing my mystery and will soon. Ive caught him before and I can do it again.

I have a plastic container about 6x6x9, the ones you can buy at petco for lizards, snakes, etc. Will that work for a breeders cup?

usually a floating or hang on fish trap does fine! i usally keep all my new fairy wrasse or other fish additions in the trap made of clear acrylic for a week before releasing into the tank. My existing wrasse and fish would go by the trap and flash or flare at them for da first day or two. i usually feed near the trap as well so they get use to each other more often. i never have had a problem with adding any fairy wrasses to my tank and i have over 15 of them many super males with established harems. good luck
