New Addition

Gresham, not any onyx now but I've got two wild pair in the bullpen with soft music and a couple of cushy BTAs. Something should happen one of these afternoons!

Sweet, thats great new's about the Mid March birthday's. Everyone mark your calanders, Cake and Arctipods at my place.

Not to derail your thread Tim but I also picked up a pair today.

Have wanted Fingerwrinkle's SI percs for a while and thanks to Jim and Steve at New Alameda have scored a pair.

Beautiful little guys Robin.

Hi Mona, Robin's really busy getting ready for travel but iirc, they are from the same parents. I'm trading w/ Tyler for a blue eye Clarkii. Yours?
Hi to Ina and let's do lunch sometime.-Jim

Mona ... Jim's right. These are brothers (and to-be sisters) of yours. Unfortunately the heatwave in July caused deformaties in my latest clutch and then the momma of the producing pair decided to do an overnight Houdini. Unfortunately, these are the last of that pair's offspring so once I bring in the next batch to Jim, I'll only have a handful of babies for sale direct (for those of you that want them, I'm going to try to get them to Jim in the next couple of days).

I am hopeful, however, that the other pairs I have will somehow figure it out in the not too distant future ... the wild SI onxy pairs, wild black ocellaris, and the standard ocellaris that used to live with Darci. Stay tuned and cross you fingers for them!

Jim, I think Tyler's blue eye is a wild one. Not related to mine. What are you going to do with it? I was suppose to get a spawning pair back from Matthew S. but I don't think he ever was able to get them out of his show tank. I'd still like to raise a few clutches to see the percentage of blue eyes. Yes, definitely have to visit some time. Glad to hear you were back.

Robin, sorry to hear about momma.

Mona, thanks ... I always knew it was going to happen at some point but it's still a bummer. Nice to know though that so many of her babies are living happily in tanks not only here in the bay area, but literally across the country (New York, the Carolinas, Colorado, to name a few locations)

Now we'll just need to see which pair will step up and claim the newly available title of "Champeeen Breeder"!

I just got some Cyclop-eeze and boy do they like the stuff. I found someone else that like the stuff. I had to go to work today and left the full can on the table. I came home to the worst smelling house ever. While I was gone my dog got on the table carried the can to the rug opened it and made a mess. I will pose on the color of the dog after a few weeks on Cyclop-eeze.

It probably tastes good on rice with a little dried seaweed too :)

Hey Norm, interesting recipe for dog.
Mona, I was going to set her up in our front display tank with a "regular" male Clarkii. However, if you're interested in working with her she's all yours. Maybe you'd like to bring Tyler the trio of percs and pick up your female? I could bring his trio to the meeting if you're going. Besides, the store doesn't have a squarepants nursery in case the pair does spawn! I'll pm my home (till 10 am today) and work (till 12:30) phone #'s-Jim

naw, thanks though. If I ever get the fish from Matthew, I wouldn't want to break up a spawning pair. Not enough time to raise babies unless they were my kids come home. :) I was just curious...

Mine appear to be eating baby brine and loving that. They don't seem to be taking in the cyclopeeze or flake food... Any suggestions? Can't afford baby brine forever :P

It is funny you say this, because I came home once to find that my dog ate a whole brand new can of this stuff. Of course she payed for it, I think she spent 3 days straight in the back yard if you know what I mean...but boy did her coat shine after that.

Sometimes you have to take the candy away before they eat what's good for them.

oh wow, my dog had the same reaction. I had a lot of cleaning today, I don't have a back yard.

As for the feeding I have been feeding fozen brine with a little cyclopeeze powder mixed in. Mine also have seem to rejected flake food.

Herman,

How about feeding the bbs for as long as they still want it, and gradually mix in some crushed flake/pellet?

At some point they'll be ready to try the new food, and if you mix with the bbs, they'll switch over in time.

We should post our clownfish questions here since some of us are starting out with the babies from this batch :)

edit- oops, didn't see the previous post couple posts. That's what I get for falling asleep in the middle of posting last night :)

I fed bbs the first day. On the second day I tried mixing in some finely crushed JumboMin pellets, and they liked that. On the 3rd day, I tried some cyclopeeze and they liked that too. The JumboMin seems like their favorite, but probably wouldn't be good if fed exclusively.
