New anemone, 1 month old tank.

I put a green bubble tip anemone in my new 1 month old tank. Yes. Just thought I'd share this success/failure. 180g tank, 40g sump.

Note I'm using 75 pounds of premium/fully cured fiji LR that was in my old system for a year. In addition to 170 pounds of dry rock. Mixed in sump/DT. Also have a refugium/DT that has exploded in pods/micro fauna after squirting pods in the new fuge from my sea horse tank. The system has lots of inverts and coral as it is still fish less. I have a round of fish in QT awaiting the end of their observation period which I'm in no rush with.



This picture was yesterday in which was day 1. It found its spot within 20 minutes and seems to have settled. Today I got a good view at its mouth in which it seemed closed and doing good. If this anemone dies or I have to pull it out of the tank I will update so.

I want a Gig or Haddoni also but will wait to see how this pans out.

Good luck with it, looks like it is doing good, sounds like your tank is in good shape.

Thanks! Still looking good today. Probably best to wait at least a week before trying to feed it a little bit I suppose

Probably so. They feed off the light mainly.

Never had any luck with nems. They settle for a few days then unlatch and find a new place. Stick there for a while then repeat. Hope you have luck.

Ha, lucky so far I guess. Have some finicky inverts\coral in this new tank with 0 loses yet. Didn't mention it because I thought I may get flamed, but at the same time as the BTA went in.. I put in a purple condy in as well. (the wife wanted the purple). Both seem happy today.



Doing some maintenance today. Before doing anything, checked my water parameters.

RODI coming out @ 0 TDS still

Have nothing to check phosphates with so I probably should get a kit. Since I have a good amount of dry rock that is new.

gig and BTA are on a complete different level.. I wouldn't try it until your tank is almost a year old..

get cipro antibiotics ready. almost all gigs need treatment immediately out of shipping bag
