Hi everybody, I just upgraded my tank. Added a 10 gallon sump/ refugium with rio 3600 with two jets and a scwd, thanks eric worked great, two mj1200 with FLO rotating water deflectors, and two 150 watt titanium heaters. I am turning my water about 20-25 times. I put live rock and chaeto in the sump, although more life rock is missing (curing right now) and it is lit by a 32 watt pc, need some culpera if anybody is willing to donate. Along with the upgrade did some aquascaping hope you enjoy. comments appreciated.

also got some moonlights although they havent been installed yet, what time cycle do you guys use, I dont know wether to leave them on all night or just for a couple of hours.

check this guy out, it came of some of the rock I'm curing,
eunicid, about 8 inches long

I also got alot of this starfish, are they reef safe should I add them to my display tank or sump, or just let them die. Its on the algae

Did you pull the eunicid? If not, I strongly recommend you do so ASAP. They will eat coral tissue.

Interesting that several of us have seen these lately, when they're considered to be fairly rare in the hobby.

the eunicid is in a seperate tank curing, I've decided to just let most stuff die off before I put the rock in the sump. I have some worms, starfish, crabs, aptasia, and ofcourse a eunicid. I'm going to do a 30 min freshwater dip, maybe more and let it cure for another week or so. I did this to the previous batch and all the big stuff seems to have died, but I will try to pick out the worms and eunicid out. Thanks jeff.

I am curious to hear more about that auto top off system you bought. I've been thinking about setting something up but I haven't researched it yet. Have you hooked it up yet? How is it performing?

Thanks,

Nick

yea hooked it up the day I got it. This one comes with two sensors, no drilling required works with brackets, so far so good.

Careful with that ATO, its good and well worth the money but the float switches tend to get stuck due to build up or salt and so on. Its the same with most float valves.

Something about your tanks makes it look dim. Maybe its the background, the color black.

ive heard of people simply using a dosing pump for top offs ;) ...u can get one for like $10 i just havnt tried it personally yet....how are those waterdeflectors working??? i was thinki9ng about those too :D

Yeah get rid of the Eunicid I had a 24" one. I was checking out live I just got from somebody, and it just poped out. I kept the rock out of water to see how long it was. WOW. They can grow up to 4ft!

illal, if you're talking about the Hydor Flo heads on the MJs, the rotating ones, then they're strait ballin. I've had one on my nano for over a year, and it keeps all my stuff in there rockin around. It does take away a lot of flow from the powerhead, but it will still make your corals sway in the breeze, so to say. I think it's awesome, and I think the corals love it.
