New bane of my existence in reefing

I'm asking you if we are supposed to.
You def should bypass or remove the membrane when new carbon blocks are added

The carbon filters are full of fine dust that can clog the membrane. It is not the end of the world if you don't, but I would def remove the flow restrictor and run 10-15 mins of water in "fast flush" mode to clear the membrane the best I could.

Lol no worries! There’s actually a good amount of helpful info. First time having an RO system and first time changing them. I have a John guest bypass on my system so that’s good to know. I’ll just connect the waste line to it

That's probably for flushing the ro membrane.

It’s right after the carbon block. I have a separate bypass or at least I can make it a by pass for the RO membrane
Most units have a bypass valve before the membrane to bypass the flow restrictor to flush the membrane.
