It's been about 26 hours now since I filled it lol
The rock came out of a 9 year old system straight into the cube. There's a few corals attached that are doing good so far but only time will tell if it's going to have a little cycle. It's only 20#

I really like the color of your rocks..is that due to coralline algae? (sorry, I'm new and learning all this stuff). If so, how did you get that..or does it hopefully just happen naturally?
 
Mine had a bit on it so it just kept growing but you can buy coralline algae or get a piece of live rock that has it to get it to start growing in your tank

Are you supplementing food for the conch? They're hungry hungry hippos, and eat up all of the available algae quickly in a smaller tank. You also probably won't have enough room to keep corals on your sandbed with a conch, as you'll run into space issues pretty quickly in the sand bed of a nano.
 
It's lovely and I am subscribed so I will see all of your updates. I'm a little behind you but will be following closely. : )

Did you add the livestock all at once? I am planning on starting slowly...with a pair of clowns to begin with.
 
I was starting in this tank just about 2 years ago. I cannot believe how cool it is to see a tank go through all of the stages of maturity. I augmented the PCs with an USA LED light strip, then gutted it all out to add a Hydra into the hood. Good luck and enjoy!

I add nori when I see the sand bed is too clean and I also feed a homemade fish goo mix that has nori in it
I don't plan on adding to much to the sand and if I see he outgrew the tank I'll sell/trade him in my local club.

Thank you. I got both fish at once and clean up crew a few days later. I did check parameters and everything was fine. My live rock was actually live coming straight out of a 400 gallon system that was running for 9 years, that might of helped a lot me being too fast in everyone's opinion lol. Do you have a thread to your build ? I'd like to follow

I just got my nanobox retro in yesterday and installing it today after work. It's always fun seeing everything settling in and starting to grow

I was just going through my old photos of the progress. The stet pics to right now are crazy. I ended up drilling the tank and installed a glass holes overflow into a custom sump. I also added a carbon reactor to the mix. So far so good. Very neat little tank though. Looking forward to seeing yours grow out! What do you plan to put in it?
