New blue gig

Hello guys,

Just want to share my new gig.
I bought it 10 days ago from a reefer.
It's been in his tank for more than a year.

phender, Sadly the Purple gig is dead. It had been with me for a year!
I bought a blue Gig from ibluewater.com, and they both were gone within a week.
I hope this one will live long for me.

Sorry to hear about the purple gig. That's my fear with adding any other anemones to the tank. Is your ritteri still going well?

Tank looks great and the new gig looks wonderful.

My Blue Gig after 30 days.
I hope this one will make it, and lives happy in my tank.

What exactly happened? Did the anemone from ibluewater have an infection that spread to the other gig?

DogueDeBordeaux, I really don't know for sure. The nem from ibluewater lasted for 10 days. The Purple Gig died 5 days after that.
One thing I know for sure now that NEVER mix a new nem with the current one.
Next time, I will quarantine it at least 3 months.

How did the gig look when it arrived from iBlueWater? Was it apparent that it was properly acclimated at iBlueWater (nice dark color, not pastel)? The reason I ask is that iBlueWater claims to acclimate the gigs for at least a month to guarantee that they are shipped in top condition. When shipped from airport to airport, as iBlueWater does, I would expect it to look pretty good when arriving home.

First of all, please understand that I don't mean to blame anybody.
I just want to tell my experience hopping it might help someone in the future.
The Gig looks fine when it arrived. The shipping method was very good.
It looked as good as other Gigs I've bought at LFS before (I never bought a Gig without a good color and a closed mouth).
The reason I bought it from iBlueWater because they are acclimated the Gig for a month; so I can put it in the same system as the Purple gig.
I was wrong. They both died!
That was my fault. For me, from now on, I will separate the Gigs at least 6 months before I put them in the same system.
