Its a nikon point and shoot, i was messing with the macro setting. These are actually a little better than the ones I've been able to get from the canon 30D, (still dont know how to use it, and need a macro lens but wow$$$$)

she is getting more active, its been a couple of months since I got her. At first i hardly ever saw her, but now I think she is more comfortable, she gets excited for food and quickly recognizes the tongs. She peers out of her burrow most of the time and will come to see if I have food when I look in, but she doesnt come out of the burrow unless I coax her out with some food. I have been considering setting up a tank for a peacock, would like to have something a little more interactive, but the ternatensis is a beautiful looking creature and I dont think I could get rid of her, so Ill just have to have two.

yep female g tern, looks great, had mine for about month. there sneaky. icatch mine coming out more and more. amazing how fast they can shoot back into there burrow. mine is quite bold when food is in the tank

nikon point and shoot.................what kind? lots of diffrent point and shoots. i am looking for a new camera but have a budget

Those are some nice pictures... I never could get a good shot of my mantis, nothing near what your pictures turned out like.

At some point, this animal lost both raptorial appendages and is regenerating them. They should be functional next molt.

cant sneak anything by ya huh..lol. How did you know? I think she has mold twice since she lost them, it has actually been nice having a cuc. I didnt know that the her raptorial appendages werent functional yet, I was beginning to wonder if she forgot that live food was an option.

it is the coolpix s series, S2xx cant remember the exact number, can get one for under 200 bucks and it works well. For just a litlle bit more you can get the S5xx that has the optical stabilization, supposed to be nicer than the electronic stabilizer. Canon powershot is also worth looking into, but I think the are a few more $$.
