I dislike sand. That's CaribSea "Special Sea Floor" crushed coral that you see. The only reason I have it is for my Leopard Wrasse- otherwise I'd be totally bare bottom.

the "blue cap" is actually a blue Echinopora and frags are usually readily available

I just switched out my VHO's, 4 year old Iwasaki halides and replaced a faltering ballast so my aquarium is now adjusting to some new lighting.

I didn't get a chance to take measurements with any instruments.
To the human eye it simply appears "whiter".
