Wow Gary! Your tank is looking excellent. The one rock knoll looks like it's got quite a few different acro on top and I love how the caps repeat on the lower levels. Every single fish in there looks as healthy as they would in the ocean. Great job!

Have to agree that this is one of the nicest, most natural looking 'scapes of any reef tank, one of my faves. But I can't tell Gary that, 'cuz it will just go to his head. :p

hey- it's one of my favorites, too!

(thanks for the compliments) :)

Tanks looking great Gary. Just went over the whole thread and all I have to say is that, the ups and downs you had with the alk issues only makes the tank as it is now look even better. I also love "Jr".

The anemone seem smaller and tentacles not as extended in the last two pictures. I did not know if the minor tank problem you had affect it any. Great looking tank.
I wish I can set up my 240. I got everything in but not clean or put the bulkhead in the tank yet. (used starfire tank from an old friend, Outerbanks, here on RC)

running the aquarium cleaner (for SPS) means the anemone is getting fed less which results in it shrinking PLUS it's size varies with what time of day it is.
Quite honestly, I've not been paying much attention to my anemone lately but I planned on feeding it a treat today.

Sounds like you're going to have a nice 240 :)

problem detected today:
Klein's Butterflyfish nips gigantea tentacles. Stay tuned.

Good luck. Looking at some of your old pictures, I can see that the S. gigantea is not as well as before.

can this work?

hello!

The Klien's I had experience with would have eaten half of your corals already. Perhaps picking here and there isn't as bad as devouring. I would take that fish out.

maybe this fish is picking at other things and I'm not aware of it...
I just recently saw it go after some purple cap. Not that it can possibly kill all my corals but it's certainly stressing out my anemone.

The quality of my pics are somewhat hampered by my 3.2 megapixel $200 (relatively inexpensive) camera. If I had a
real camera I could do some serious photography!
