Just thought I'd share my beautiful baby Brownbanded Bamboo Shark that I got today. He has already eaten a piece of squid and seems to be doing fine.

Sorry, but this is the only pic I took of him today. I'll try and get more tonight or tomorrow.

Nice, about time you got your shark! How long is he staying in the 75g? I thought it was going to be while til you got the pond up and running.

We are going to start building next weekend. We're going to buy the wood sometime mid-week next week.

You have no idea how excited I am.

Update:

Since the bad nitrates, the rash on her belly, and the problems right off the bat, things have gotten better. She's eating like a pig, about 4-5 pieces of squid and mysis shrimp a day and she's a little more active at night.

Those pictures above make her look so skinny. Since then, she's fattened up quite a bit (although these pics might not show it).

Also snatched a few decent pictures of his first, non-elasmobranch, tankmate, a 5" Scopas Tang.

I was able to snatch another good pic of the shark last night.

Also, I got a new fish yesterday! A B-E-A-utiful Yellow Tang. He's about 4".

Although you can't really tell from the pics, he's a good 3/4" thick.

Mike: There has already been PLENTY of that! The mirror trick seemed to calm the Scopas down a bit. Although, there still is a little aggression.

Limitedslip: Thanks, she's been doing great!

Congrats on your shark. I love sharks they are my second favorite fish next to triggers.I have 13 sharks.I am starting a breeding project for eppaulettes, port jacksons, brown banded bamboos, white spot bamboos, gray bamboos, horn sharks and hopefully someday gray smoothhounds.I would like to see more of these sharks raised locally, they lay eggs and breed readily in captivity , then we can stop takeng eppaulttes and port jacksons from the great barrier reef.
