New Clown and Anemone

Wondering if I should move it under a shade rock, of course the clown could be the cause, he just lays there next to it when the light is off, light on he goes bananas. He molests it all day long.

Plausible reasons why your anemone is dying:

1. you bought it bleached
2. your crab probably messed with it causing it stress
3. you as well have been causing it stress by messing with it
4. You have the bare minimum of lighting
5. Seems like your tank is brand new going by the picture you provided thus it is not established enough
6. You only have a 12 gallon nano cube which provides no water stablility whatsoever.

Yes I certainly have learned a lot through this. It's looking a site better today. I'm not gonna even walk near the tank except to feed them.
The clown goes bonkers when anything gets near his precious anemone, he maybe part of the multi level cause too.

Do you work at Petco? My point is "the majority" of Petco employees do not have the knowledge or care to have the knowledge of the hobby as your LFS owner or employee who cater to the needs and issues of Reefers in the hobby..

You can have a lot of knowledge as a 12th grader and a 45 year old construction worker can too... or whomever... as long as you love the hobby or have a passion for it... my comment regarding " part-time high school kids" was because for the most part they are working there ONLY for a PAY CHECK....

I don't work at petco...I work at a saltwater fish store though.

Ok my 2 cents on this is one don't ever try to move an anemone unless it is in harms way they will move on there own to get les or more light or flow and two it may be retracting to your light because it is trying to save its energy I don't know what Nano Cube you have but most only have PC lighting and usually not more than 48w unless you upgraded which you may have but assuming you have only pc lighting the anemone is not getting enough light thus shrinking itself to conserve its energy.

What's your alkalinity?
Treat anemones like corals. Proper levels of Ca, Mg, and alkalinity can go a long way.
