new copperband

So I put my new copperband into my DT today after a few weeks in my QT of not eating and looking all down on himself. I figured that he was going to die if i didnt put him in my tank. SO, i did. He started swimming around, interacting with all of his new friends. This is my 3rd copperband that i tried so I am hoping for success. This time is different, the bully of the tank ( yellow tang) has since passed, and there is no one to chase him around anymore. Great news! he is picking things off my rocks and eating the nori.. amazing!

Just thought I would share. I had to tell someone who gave a crap.

Ggood news, have you tried live brine? He should eat live brine, then try mixing mysis in with the live brine slowly and he should eventually take to the mysis. Glad to hear he is doing better though!

I havent tried live brine shrimp yet, my only air pump has been occupied by my QT tank. Im not using that anymore so that is my next step. Never thought about adding mysis in there, good call. I had freeze dried blood worms that he didnt really like, of course that was when he was in QT.. apparently things have changed. Ill give them both a shot. Thanks guys

If you can get live blackworms try that , only thing mine would eat . Bloodworm are not good for them they are not a true worm larva of some kind . Lost my CBB will not get another better left in the wild .

bloodworms have a hard shell which makes them hard to digest.

My LFS has a copperband in the DT that will eat rods food out of your hand.

so all you tried was frozen bloodworms in QT? no wonder he did nto ear and you lost 2 previous. Have you read the primer? i got mine eating frozen in QT adn it took more then bloodworms, i used small rockes with aptisia and pods to sustain him in the mean time... sad to hear you kept trying

At what point in that thread did I write that the ONLY thing i tried was frozen bloodworms? You really shouldnt assume things like that. It makes me think you that you are accusing me of not caring about my fish.

While my CBB was in QT I gave him every opportunity to eat. I do not have aptasia, I went to my lfs and got some specifically for him. I emptied the filter sock from my DT and put in all the pods i could find into his personal 20 gallon tank. I gave him frozen clams, frozen bloodworms, frozen mysis, frozen brine, nori, etc. The only thing that I couldnt provide or find locally was live food.

I have read the primer. Several times in fact. I have done all the necessary research in order to keep my favorite species alive and kicking. sometimes they just dont eat. but i guess thats my fault
