I just got my first clam. I have a cleaner shrimp that has made his permanent home hanging on the side of the clam. He doesn't really hurt the clam but it looks like he wants to clean the clams mantle. Every once and a while he either brushes up against the mantle with either his legs or attenna and the clams briefly retracts it mantle the immediately fully opens again.

Is this a problem in any way? Causing stress for the clam?

should be fine, the clam will get used to it and will not worry about closing when the shrimp is on it. try feeding the shrimp away from the clam if you are concern.
