Fin does it retain that same look (as the picture above) when you look down on it directly?

Best color when looking down at it, the picture was taken at (or slightly above) level, if you looked at it below level it loses all blue and just appears brown.
Do you have any experience feeding micro-vert (by Kent Marine) to clams?
How much time before I need to get it under the Halide? I hate throwing stuff in with insufficient QT time.
