New Crosshatch Pair

Added these guys last Monday. They were captured as a pair, and then off to Aquatouch here in Phoenix. They spent just over a month in QT with Michael and his crew there. If you ever want to buy rare/semi-rare fish with good piece of mind, Aquatouch is the place to do it. They treat all their fish in QT for all parasites and train them on a captive diet for a month at Aquatouch Too, before they ever hit the floor of the main store. Can't say enough about how great a store it is, and a sponsor here at RC if you didn't know. I had planned on adding Crosshatch in a couple years when I upgrade to a 10 footer, but when Michael got them in for such a good price I couldn't resist.

Was thrilled at how little aggression there was toward these new fish, particularly from my Sohal Tang. The only fish that harassed them at all was the Passer Angel, but the male put a very quick stop to that. The male is roughly 7.5 inches and the female is 5.5 inches. They ate like pigs the first day and have fit into my system immediately/perfectly.

I like this pic with the Sohal, the Male and the big Tang are pretty much the same size, the Sohal may have him by 1/2 an inch.

They get along great, but no protection has been needed by the Male

Niger likes to be in the pics I guess, I like this pic because the Niger is out of focus and the Crosshatch is not.

I had a sweet video, but I had to send my EX F1 in to Casio as the USB port became dislodged:thumbdown That would be the Camera I use to give golf lessons, thankfully I'm slow right now, I'm teaching without technology, lol. Anyway, I will post that when it comes back.

Looking good, looks like you have a pretty nice collection. You should post more pics of your tank and other inhabintants.

Thanks Tim, yeah that can be done....Hopefully my video camera repair won't take long.

Looks awesome Kirk!!!! I love crosshatches and seeing yours really makes me miss mine.

Good work bro!!

Yeah, yours certainly had something to do with my interest...I know your tank is kind of going in a different direction, but they are such great fish, I hope you consider another run at them.

Oh, one thing I didn't mention. I said there was no aggression toward the Crosshatches, but my established Triggers got into a near battle to death after the new guys went in! The Sargassum seemed to be starting the fights from what I saw, but the Niger was finishing them. I actually got my QT/HT up and ready and thought I was going have to pull the Sargassum before he was killled. But things settled after about a day, and the Sargassum's wounds have healed and things are back to normal. Interesting behavior though.

Aquatouch is my favorite SW store. Don't go there too often, though, because I live three hours away in Yuma, in the middle of nowhere. I'll be there next week though when I'm taking my dtr to Phoenix. I don't reall need anything, but I like looking at what they have

Do they eat small fish? I like add one also, but I'm afraid that they will eat all my

dwarf angel and wrasse

I would say very unlikely to eat a Dwarf Angel or a Wrasse. These fish do need a rather large tank IMO though. They are never available in small sizes like other Triggers are. I wouldn't put one in anything less than a 150. I know DD says 75, but that seems really small to me.

Those are beautiful. I know some people get obsessed with tangs, but I'm obsessed with triggers. Some day I'll have a tank begin enough for them!

Great job.

Great lloking fish, but wow what guts you have to add/buy them with those other fish sohal, passer which ccan be really territorial, luckily their getting along, awesome fish!

Wowee!! How in the world did you persuade those fish to align like that for a picture? Simply gorgeous.
