I got a really nice Derasa this weekend from a local reefer downsizing their tank. I acclimated the clam for a couple hours (slow drip, in container floating in sump to equalize temp). It was tightly closed when I got it, but it had been bagged and riding in a car for over an hour before I picked it up. Once acclimated and moved into the tank it opened up pretty quickly. I'm new to clams, and noticed that the edges of the mantle seem to curl under quite a bit. Is this alright? I don't have any other clams (and never have in the 10 years this tank has been up) so there shouldn't be any clam parasites or diseases in the tank. I think it was nice and healthy before transport. Do they just take a few days to get acclimated? Or is this curling under just normal on some Derasa specimens? It's decent size, probably about 5 to 6 inches.
