New ESL Release

Do you possibly have more than one Connection Manager running? We have seen this issue very rarely, but it could cause the issue that you are seeing. It shouldn't be possible to run more than one Connection Manager on the same computer, however if you tried from multiple computers it is possible.

It might be a good idea to take a look at your processes just to make sure only one instance of the Connection Manager is running.

i removed the connection manager and redownload and reset the safari.

all does not work

it is working now as i did not connect the Radion . in the past , the connection manager will show connected even though i did not connect Radion to the MAC

That is good news. The latest version of EcoSmart Live will only show connected if your Connection Manager is running AND a Radion is plugged in via USB.

Everything worked for me and now I'm trying out the Radiant mode.

I downloaded/installed the new connection manager and then restarted my mac.
All my radions were recognized but grayed out. It said they needed to be updated so I ran the firmware updated on all. When it was done, the one connected to usb was fine, the others were still grayed out. So one by one i connected each radion to the usb and as I did, each one came back online. Once complete, I logged out and quit the connection manager. I started it back up, logged back in and all were good to go with my current programing. That's when I was able to start making changes and it all worked as it should.

when i enable the ecosmart participation mode , even though it is in night mode , the pump does not go into night mode

Anyone else having issues with calibration?

4 out of 8 lights are off after calibrating them carefully multiple times.

I just tried to login this morning and I can't connect.

I physically unplugged my Radions from the wall, reboot my PC and still nothing.

When I login, it says "connecting" and then after 1-2mins, it just says "disconnected" and clicking the reconnect does nothing.

I wish I could use EcoSMART live. I have spent many nights struggling with it. Here is where I currently am with my three lights:

The wiz finds my three Radions, gets the info from the first two but seems to hang getting data from the third light.

I have followed this procedure:
Factory resets on each with connection manager, firmware update on each (though now I get the check saying that no update was needed.) Powered down lights, disconnected usb, quit CM. Started a new profile in EcoSMARTLive, plugged in usb and started CM.

I’ve tried many things many times. Any suggestions?

Can you please give me your name or email so I can take a look at your account & profile to make sure everything is working as expected? Feel free to private message me if you wish. Sometimes a profile can become corrupt if lights weren't completely discovered and provisioned.

Hi Shaun,
Thanks for helping! I can't PM you so here is the email address which I use to login with. rmehlin@optonline.net.
Rich

I reset your profile on the backend. Can you please try again. I would suggest using the following steps:

1. Close EcoSmart Live and the Connection Manager
2. Disconnect USB and power cycle your lights
3. Plug in your Radion via USB when the lights are powered and illuminated
4. Open the Connection Manager
5. Factory reset each light by going to USB Device > Factory Reset
6. Open and log into EcoSmart Live
7. Use the Aquarium Setup to find and program your lights.

Please let us know the outcome.

First, outstanding support Shaun, thank you. I followed the preceeding procedure exactly. Still the same result. I seem to be hung or thrashing when "Retrieving details for Radion 3". I'm not quite sure which one that is but....

The left and right fixtures show a gold led, the center shows red.

I will identify that balast and power cycle it. I will not try further resets or firmware updates without your instruction.

With just the two fixtures that show gold LEDs, the same thing occurs when acquiring data for the second light. Could I have a permission issue where the collected data can't be stored?

Hey Guys,

When i programmed using the latest ESL when I enabled the lunar it seemed like the 2 radions were acting the same. They are set to the High Growth however when the lunar was enabled it seemed to make one light really dim and the other was bright when it was in the moon light phase.

Any ideas

did you calibrate both lights?

The new version of ESL is a huge improvement from the initial release. I had a problem where it was not connecting at first on my mac. I finally got it to connect and after updating the light it hung up on me. I unplugged the USB & Power for 30mins and plugged it back in and was able to connect once again and program it.

I re-programmed the light and I'm waiting for the sunset to kick in and see if my lunar starts tonight on my Gen1.

Keep up the great work!

Wow, this is such a massive improvement from the ecosmart config utility. It's unbelievable how much easier it is to use.

#1 request: please disable that auto-time out feature if the program is in the middle of a critical function. Someone came to my door while it was updating light 1 out of 8 during the initial migration, and I didn't get back to the computer in time. It took me a solid hour to get the process going again. I understand why banks have auto-time out features, but there's no real security issues with an aquarium lighting profile, so there's not much of a reason to force a log out. At least not when there's a critical process occurring.

I'm going to try out that lunar cycle, that's the feature that drew me away from the config utility...

Please do the following:

1. Close EcoSmart Live and your Connection Manager
2. Uninstall and then reinstall the Connection Manager (sorry for the hassle here)
3. Disconnect USB and power down all of your lights
4. Power on the two lights that didn't have a red LED indicator on top
5. Open the Connection Manager
6. Factory reset both lights over USB using the Connection Manager
7. Open and log into EcoSmart Live
8. After you login, the Aquarium Setup should open automatically. Close it.
9. Click the Device Manager button above where the device list would be

The Device Manager should find your lights and display them on the left hand side of the screen. Simple click both of them to select then select the "My Aquarium" header on the right. This will add both lights to your profile. Click Done when that process is complete. After another quick query, your lights should display in your profile. You can always rename the group and lights as well as pick a new template from Schedule Actions...
