New ESL Release

What version of osx are you running?

10.6.8. It's an older mini I have hooked up to my TV and the only computer within 20ft cable length of my tank and that is the latest supported OSX version. I enabled Java etc. and still get a console error:
12/11/12 7:13:26 PM [0x0-0x15015].com.ecotech.live.client.update.BootLoader[314] java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /Applications/EcoSmart Live Connection Manager.app/Contents/Resources/Java/libhidapi-jni.jnilib: no suitable image found. Did find: /Applications/EcoSmart Live Connection Manager.app/Contents/Resources/Java/libhidapi-jni.jnilib: mach-o, but wrong architecture
I wonder if it's the older Core Duo 32-bit only capability that is causing issues.

You are right. It is a 32 bit machine and we only ship a 64-bit compatible version with the installer. I appreciate you posting the error message. Let me see if I can get a 32 bit build for you. Stay tuned...

We are happy to hear that many people are having success with the latest version of EcoSmart Live. For those of you who are experiencing problems, we are working right now to try to see what is going on. We recently found that there could be hardware conflicts with certain USB drivers and are trying to understand the issue. For those of you having problems, can you please reply to this and we will try to work with you individually to get the issues resolved.

I just sent you a private message with some steps to follow and a test to run.

I was on the phone with John trying to trouble shoot my radion not updating to the newest firmware, we could not get it figured out so he has it scheduled for you to call me tomorrow. I have kept trying to get it to update and I was finally successful

i got it working using the program that you sent me

the only issue that i have is that once the page refreshes , the connection manager needs to be reconnected again , that's all

Thumbs up for this

the tip here is to exit the connection manager and then login to the web site and then open the connection manager and it works every time.

The problem i have now is to kept getting error have occurred if you attempt to update the firmware and the other thing is the acclimation function if i am using customised template , how does it work to drive to 100%?

Few Question :

Do we need to update firmware on the new Genx2 ?

Do we need also Java 64-Bit or 32-Bit good also ?

Hey, thanks. I've been waiting a long time to try ESL and hopefully it's an easy fix.

Can I do this?:

I purchased 2 G2's a few weeks ago and have been using them off of an old PC with a USB connection.

I'd like to (if possible) use ESL on my 1 year old Macbook Pro so I can program my lights wirelessly, etc.

Can I import my graph from my PC to my Mac (perhaps email it to myself and open/import on the mac) and now use ESL for a "seamless transition"?

Has anyone else gone from using one computer to another? Are there any issues with doing this, or bumps along the way?

yeah i have been waiting too but i cant even find the site........all browsers keep telling me same thing "site not found and ends up in a google search".
i keep posting and asking for help with this and no one seems to really care as it seems that my question just gets shrugged off.

I've never used ESL myself, but just from going to ecotech's website and clicking on ecosmart live I've come to this login page. Have you gotten this far?

Hey, just downloaded the ESL software and connection manager. Also did the firmware update.

I'm just trying to figure this out. Am I now supposed to be able to access my lights wirelessly? It still requires me to be plugged in to connect to the lights, every time I unplug I loose connection? I was under the impression that the connection should be wireless now?

Also with the Lunar cycle, I have enabled it from the group settings page. I'm on the high growth schedule and it already has 2 night time points plotted on the graph, will the lunar cycle just adjust the brightness of those 2 points, or do I have to make my own.

If this doesn't work, try entering it from a different web browser. Also try from your mobile device. My guess is you'll need to reset your web browser's cookies to enter the site.

ESL is one step along that direction. Once programmed, your lights no longer have to be plugged in. However, if you would like to access your lights from a remote, mobile device, you must have at least one light plugged into a computer running the connection manager and then you can access all of your lights via any other internet enabled device by going to www.ecosmartlive.com and logging in.

Also with the Lunar cycle, I have enabled it from the group settings page. I'm on the high growth schedule and it already has 2 night time points plotted on the graph, will the lunar cycle just adjust the brightness of those 2 points, or do I have to make my own.

The lunar cycle will adjust the intensity of all night time points over the course of the month. You will not need to add your own unless you want the moonlight effect longer than the preset two or three hours.

Thanks for your reply Tim.

That makes a lot of sense now.

With regards to the lunar phases. I have made night mode begone at 8pm and end at 8am, I then made one single point at equal distance apart at 2am to simulate the moon rising and setting. On the graph the intensity rises to this point and then falls away after the point. With the lunar module changing the intensity of the point will it also change the intensity of the build up and fall off over the course of the month?

Thanks

yes, it will. It's best to set a constant moonlight intensity during your night time hours by setting the night time point at 3% for one color and the day time point at 3%, then let the lunar cycle take care of the rest.

If you want there to be complete darkness after a certain time in the night, say 4am, then you should set the night time point to 3% for one color and create a 4am point at 3% followed by a 4:05am point at 0%. Then there will be moonlight adjusted by the lunar cycle from 8pm to 4:05am and nothing until daytime begins.

Let me know if you understand.
