New ESL Release

Shaun, the ecosmart does not work at all. I get disconnected every time and it cannot find either of my 2 Radions. I have heard this from many of my radion friends. I will continue to run natural mode until it is fixed.

Hi Shaun,

Im over in the UK and Im trying to use natual mode shallow on ESL. It seems that the timings are all messed up as at the top of ESL the time is correct however when Natural mode is programmed by 6PM my lights are very dim and look like its actually around 9ish.

My time schedule is on at 9am and off at 10pm. Im not sure if this is a timezone issue or becasue i have ammened the preset start and end times. I have read on the Ecotech community forumn a few other people in the UK have the same issue.

I have had to setup the High Growth for the time being as this seems to have the correct lighting schedule. I have done factory resets and calibrations which has not made any difference. I am also running the latest firmware and connection manager.

We would love to see Ecotech Marine on Ultimate Reef the biggest forum in the UK.

We are currently working on making the Natural mode functionality more efficient and improve performance. If you get the timing wrong it could cause unexpected results. Stay tuned for the next release for major improvements on the graphing.

What browser and type of computer are you running?

If you haven't already, I would recommend trying the following steps:

1. Close the Connection Manager and EcoSmart Live
2. Open and log into EcoSmart Live
3. Create a new profile by going to Settings > New Profile
4. Disconnect USB
5. Power cycle your lights
6. Plug in your Radion via USB when the lights are powered and illuminated
7. Open the Connection Manager
8. Factory reset each of your lights by going to USB Device > Factory Reset. This step is important.
9. Use the Aquarium Setup to import and program your lights

If this still doesn't work, try to find each light individually, with only one powered at a time.

My ESL is only finding the radions that are connected wirelessly. It lists the radion that's connected via USB (doesn't matter which one I choose to plug in) as disconnected, and so the whole system thinks it's disconnected, and I can't edit the program.

I'm on a Macbook Pro, using both Safari and Firefox

hi shaun, for the lunar phase how would you put in points for it too follow a calender schedule???? i understand that you need too have a set point/s how about the intensity. my understanding is that it will adjust automatically or do i have to put in different points with different intensities????

As I mentioned, we are currently testing major improvements to schedule graphing, particularly with Natural mode. It works now, however depending on the number of lights and your internet connection, things might slow down to a halt. Please stay tuned for updates in the very near future.

After the page refreshes and the wireless Radions are found, can you try selecting the Reconnect option from the Connection Manager menu?

All you have to do is add night mode points for the time you would like to add moonlighting. EcoSmart Live and your Radions will take care of the rest.

For example, if have your start night at 7 PM and want moonlighting until 11 PM (and then off), you would add a point at 11 PM set to off. Then your moonlight period would be the intensity specified on the 7 PM point to off at 11 PM. So the Radion will adjust the intensity from 7 PM to 11 PM based on the current lunar phase.

I'm using my work laptop which runs a 32 bit version of XP. I saw somewhere in this thread or the other that 32 bit machines may have problems, but that was some time ago and ET said they were working on a fix. I'm really not even sure if this is relevant to my issue.

Yes, you are correct. 10% would be full moon, 0% (off) would be new moon and the other phases would be between 0 and 10%.

Thanks!! After weeks of frustrating attempts, I very carefully walked through these steps again today and its working great now!

I have been trying to program by radion for a couple of hours now after downloading the new patch. It is connected, I have the graph selected with what I want the schedule to be, and when I hit program it just sits on "preparing and synchronizing schedule data". I am not sure what else to do.

okay so I connected and reprogrammed using ESL amd now my lights will not fire on preview or demo mode, any idea what is going on.
