Yea, I have to chime in here a bit and give some compliments, as well as constructive criticism for EcoTech.
I'm a new Radion user on my 150G, 60x24x24. I bought them when I set the tank up in the middle of December and have been using them ever since.... First comments, I used the desktop application, and it sucked. I hated it, and sat there thinking to myself, oh boy..
I tried to use Natural mode, with a start of 8am and turn off at 10PM. I couldn't get it to work for days. This happened for days. It would turn on several hours later, and turn off several hours later. I was angry, and frustrated... I called support, we couldn't figure out why it was going on, and then one the 4th or 5th day of messing around... It started to work, perfectly, with one issue. The schedule was 1hr late. So I logged into ESL, setup a template, named my fixtures, and did everything.. so far so good.
I used the Sipadan Reef, shallow template, set to 100%, and away I went... So to fix my schedule being wrong, I set it to turn on at 7am, and off at 9pm. Since then, it turns on perfectly, and has worked well for the last month and a half almost.
I tried using ESL today, and was experiencing some issues, so yea it needs to get worked on and released as non-beta. Does it do a good enough job for the time being? Absolutely. I would love to see more templates, a community sharing of templates etc as I do not have enough time to experiment myself, so consider that a suggestion EcoTech...
Lastly, is the scheduling thing a minor inconvenience? Yea.. Does it make me want to return these fixtures? Hell no. I have buddies who run MHs and when they come over to my place, and the sunset is starting to happen, they stand in awe because it's just so bada**. Literally, they are parked in front of the tank, and a couple of them are going to be converting to Radions in the near term.
These lights are awesome, and I would love to get some more features, mainly around configuration (templates, explaining what they are, etc)... Other than that, these things are amazing, and I am myself in awe every morning when lights start to kick on, and on the off chance a storm rolls through.
Thank you EcoTech, keep up the good work!
