Today, I received a new RS135 purchased directly from Euro-Reef.
I sat it in my sump a few inches away from my CS100 - plenty of room for both skimmers.
I plugged it in and it started beautifully.
Within 30 seconds huge quantities of bubbles started shooting into the collection cup filling it in seconds.
I lowered the stand pipe to its lowest setting and closed the air valve 1/2 way shut.
Within 10 minutes the pump stopped - I could not get it back on - I tried all the usual tricks.
I opened the pump housing (new needle wheel impeller by the way) and the ceramic shaft was shattered in 5 pieces.
I left a message at Euro Reef, yet to hear back from them.
Any of you have a contact at Euro-Reef that can get me a replacement impeller ASAP?
Is the pump bad or just the impeller?
Thanks, I'm bumming...:rolleye1:
