OK, so I've had pretty crappy luck so far. Every new fairy wrasse I buy ends up kicking the crap out of my lubbocks, and since he was my first fish in this tank, he gets seniority, so the new guy gets the boot. My newest try..... an unidentified "rainbow fairy wrasse" out of, or through, Bali. What do you guys think?

Beautiful wrasse. That's pure coincidence, just this morning I was on R2R and saw another one just like that and couldn't tell what type. I hadn't ever seen one like that. Great find Peter.
If he doesn't like your Lubbocks, send him my way,LOL

I dare say if he doesn't like the lubbocks, the lubbocks may end up in my 60g :o

Too bad they had no females to purchase with him :( Hope he keeps his colors. Does getting another similar species female help?

The reds keep their colors alot better than the blues. But I have 2 male pyleis and neither one of them look as brilliant as they used to be. Here is one of them last night trying to be king.

Well, according to WWM, they are quite different depending on location.

Cirrhilabrus pylei first stage male. I was taking a nap. Normally in deep water. My experience with them is that they are somewhat fragile especially the males. They tend to keep their coloration and are not especially aggressive, similar to a Rhomboid in level of aggression. Yes, they are different depending on location. Think of them as C. rubrimarginatus with blue rather than red. Behavior and other characteristics are similar.

Yes, keep in there for a bit. See if he attracts any negative attention, but I would tend to doubt that. But if you don't want him, send him over!!

LOL, well, if you want one, the LFS that I bought him from said it came from SDC, so ask them to get one for you:)

Yes, that is correct. I sent Eric an email to inform him of the ID though.
