Picked up some fun frags for my wife's collection the past few days.
A couple people have asked for pics of the new frags, so here it goes.

Sorry for the poor pics. I've never tried to take tank pics before, and I have an old Point and Shoot.

Nothing overly rare, but some great ones!

I know the pics don't POP like so many I see around here. I guess Ill have to keep practicing, and make a decision on a new SLR!

Really nice zoas!! I am fairly new to the "zoanthid craze" and enjoy seeing all varieties of zoas!!(they do not need to be rare to be enjoyed by others) Great variety of colors.

good luck

Very nice!
I particularly like that one on the left in the 6th picture.
You get some of those from montri?

Glad you guys like them. I was prepared for criticism about my first photo attempts.

There are a few more deepwaters that have great color, but they are in bad spots to get good pics of.

Looks like someone dove in the japanese deepwater pit. LOL nice. watch out for melting or pox on them.

Luckily I got a really really good deal on them! I couldn't have brought myself to pay 5-10$ + per polyp for them like Ive been seeing everywhere! Ended up with about 200 polyps of Deepwaters.

I will definitely keep an eye on them, they seem healthy so far.

Im not really sure of the names of these deepwaters.
They are all similar, just small changes in color here and there. I think i have 3 frags of the first ones, with differing color rings.

Nice additions! my LFS here in Phoenix just got a bunch of these deepwaters...too bad they are $10 a polyp :(

I have heard they don't do well in direct light, the color seems seep from them, I would suspect that being deepwater is the cause of this ;)

BTW, no need to apologize for the pics, they look pretty crisp to me

Rxx2 - A few did come from Montri, how did ya know?! I also got some great ones from Shadowramy last week, that I did not get pics of (other than the devils armor)

Those were your first photo attempts? Holly crap if you saw my first photo attempts you whouldnt stop laughing for days, those are great :)

Yeah kinda sad, Ive snapped a pic of the tank from across the room here and there over the past 15 years, but nothing with any real focus like these.

I've been trying to convince myself to buy a real camera, maybe this one is good enough for now! Way to save me a couple grand =)

picked up a few myself.
do you have a favorite?
they've been interesting to watch acclimate. i put them all on the bottom of the tank.
some bleached, some got brighter.

I am curious how these are doing for people that have had them for a while in brightly lit tanks.
Mine are all at the bottom of the tank 30" below a 250 watt 12k Halide.

Guess I posted that the same time you did!

I really like the ones that have alot of the yellows- As you mentioned, the 6th picture, one on the left. (Likely the one on the right in your picture)
I also like the bright red/orange ones. They are crazy bright in my tank, the pictures do not do them justice.

Yes the one on the right.
It was crazy bright when I first got it. Like in the pic.
Unfortunately it was one that bleached. It's coming back though.
Good luck with them!
