new fuge setup question

Just a querry about seting up my fuge. I'll be installing my 55 fuge tomarrow and was wondering if i should leave my canister filters running while the fuge settles? also depending on the answer to this I'll have a fluval 305 and 404 for possible trade.

If your canister is up and running it wont hurt to leave it going.

Are you talking about a sump w/fuge or just a fuge?

If your referring to just a fuge its going to take a little time for it to become astablished with pods and life, but not to long. You can bring some live rock from your main tank to kick start it.

Long term I would take the canister out, unless you are very proactive with cleaning them they will quickly become dirty.

i have some of that macroalgea that you can have to get you goin it already has pods in it. I cant spare too much only cuz its in a penguin biowheel/ fuge but hey it works

thanks for the offer kd, I actually already have some in a hob filter-cum-fuge. I think I'll just take down the canisters. I have enough live rock, and I'm using arag-alive sand.
