New GBTA & In need of opinions!

Recently picked up another GBTA after my old 9 inch GBTA decided to swim into my power head 3 months ago. I have what I believe to be a Clarkii clown now being hosted by the new GBTA. I have had the Clarkii who clearly shows signs of dominance to my False Black Percula (I believe) for almost 7 months now. Before any anemones were added to the tank they seemed like they bonded and had no hostility to each other. Was a very very odd bonded pair but it worked. Now the percula won't go anywhere near the anemone or the Clarkii will start acting defensive. I'm losing my fan of clarkiis and looking into more designer clown fish and considering trading the Clarkii in for something else. I need opinions on your favorite looking pair of clowns.

I had clarkii before and really like them. You may try getting another clarkii and see if the old one will let it come into the anemone. I had 2 maroon clowns, one that wouldn't let the other one come close to the anemone and over a period of time they are both in the anemone and seem to be happy together. I wish you luck with them.

Thank you, I only know one store that actually has Clarkii's in stock on a normal basis and it's a bit of a drive but I might take it sometime soon.

The BTA is a natural host for the Clarki, but not for the percula. The Perc may or may not take to the BTA over time, but also the Clarki may defend its host and not allow the Perc near the BTA. The one plus for Clarki is that they are naturally hosted by all available hosting anemones in the trade.

Trevor make sure you get a small Clarkii when you do get one about an inch to make sure it's a male. This gives you the best chance at having a bonded pair.
