New Geo Skimmer!

Well, I had a little accident with my old skimmer, which left it unusable. I called George and asked him to build me something special. Boy did he come through! He built me a hybrid prototype. It's a Becket head skimmer as well as a needle wheel skimmer. I'm running an Iwaki MD-70RLT Pump to power the Becket head and supply the skimmer with fresh water, which I believe it pulls around 130 SCFM and it uses the Reeflo Orca pump which I upgraded the needle wheel to the new Reef Specialty Orca Wheel (thanks Mike!!), which should pull around 150SCFM for a grand total of approximately 280 SCFM! It's been running for a few days, and so far has pulled about a gallon of gunk out of my system. The waste collector in the picture holds around 300 OZ. This thing is over the top!! Thanks George!!

Well I have been trying to get George to build me a skimmer now for a year but no avail LOL. I guess a 900 pound gorilla gets what he wants. Congrats on a great skimmer, sorry not to see a reflection in the skimmer so we can see the man behind the curtain.

George has been a good friend for a long time. That has it's advantages... :D

Best of both worlds, very nice.
Yea, I think this is the future. Honestly, when I first hooked it up and just had the Iwaki running, it was a foam machine. When I plugged in the Orca, I was like "oh hell yea" this thing is crazy! :D

I love all of his products. When George told me what he threw together, I was wondering when pics were going to surface. That thing makes my GEO becket look like a baby.

Very nice.

Thats a great idea for these large skimmers, it's not electricity friendly but should work like a champ.

That thing is outstanding! I wish I could post the subject line of the email George just sent me for this link, it would explain it all! :)

I'll throw a watt meter on it over the next couple of days and post the results here. If it's not too bad, I might throw an Iwaki MD100RLT on it just to see what happens... :D

WHAT the.... no GEO sticker installed? BAN.

I was talking to George about this the other day. You're going to blow the lid right off the top of it with all that air ;) I'm very interested to see how it does once it's all complete.

Mine's just a widdle guy in comparison to some I've seen recently. 140 SCFH @ 145w with Mike's needlehweel as well.

That thing is a monster. Really, that skimmer is a monster Ryan. I always said George does some incredible work but it really seams to shine in his monster skimmers.

Doesn't Geo know you are supposed to use clear acrylic instead of white PVC for the body! (wink wink, nod nod). :)

That thing is sick, totally milked out.
