New gigentia anemone

sorry I haven't been updated this in 2 days the nem had to go to qt I started a cipro treatment yesterday morning( I know your supposed to start before nite, but I wanted to observe it in qt without the clownfish) it was pretty mad last night, but I did a water change and did the second dose of cipro

Do a lot of water change. If it deflates or if the water is cloudy, then change it as soon as you can and add new antibiotic.
BTW, the picture the LFS send you is not the picture of your anemone. Your anemone is much too small. If you just do a rough tentacles count you will see that your anemone is not the same as the one pictured.

I was actually thinking the same thing... :thumbdown

I would like to hope that the LFS is a reputable one and the photos are of the same anemone. In my opinion, it very well could be. When gigantea are in a state of decline, they change quite a bit. As zoox dies and is expelled, their color changes dramatically. When starved for nutrients, they may consume themselves and change in size (aside from the fact that nems are 80%+ water). Finally, when they reach the "puffy pancake" stage it can appear that the nem has less tentacles, when in realtiy they are retracted to the point where they can't be seen and appear as bald spots on the oral disc.

Here's a photo of my first gigantea I had a few years ago (LFS store photo):

And here's what it looked like when dying:

Regardless of if it's same anemone or not, I am glad you are treating it. Had the antibiotic therapy been around when I purchased the gig shown above, at least I would've had a chance to save it.

I was thinking the same thing, it is looking much better each day I will post some pictures soon

Just an updated photo, I think it is looking much better thank you everyone who suggested to treat it, that was the right call.
