I finally got some fish!!!! I bought a pair of GSMs and they were delivered Friday morning. Guess what they found 10 mins ago?

I know they are still getting used to their new home, but what do foods do they like? I have tried formula 1 frozen soaked in Zoecon and some of the pellets given to me by the seller. They just watch it sink. The anemone likes it though.

Other than that they just spend their time playing in the LTA. I will post some pics tonight.

I mix it up w/ mysis & cyclopeez every other day, flake evryother.
Some nori for tangs which clown also takes.
One silverside a week for each nem.
Nice pair of GSM's

Ok now I am a little concerned. This pair came from an established system and the person said they had them for about 2 weeks after a week of QT. Now, I do not notice any rapid breathing or scratching on the rocks, but I noticed some brown and white stringy poop. They still have not eaten for me and spend most of the time in the LTA. Should I set up a QT and watch them for a few weeks?

First fish, new to the hobby and starting to stress.

HMM, 6 months is supposed to be min for nems, keep close eye, you may get lucky.
Stringy brown stuff most likely nem poop.
Give clowns time to acclimate, and try variety of food.
Curious why previous owner got rid so soon.
Good luck, and don't stress, sometimes takes a couple days b4 eating.
But if nem starts to go, get it out soon.
Really it should be in an established tank.

I am sorry for the confusion.
Tank has been set up since August, LTA added last month, clowns added Friday. The clowns poop is stringy white with brown pieces in it and they are not eating yet. Previous owner was breaking down tank.

I tried feeding again this morning, formula 1 frozen soaked in garlic. They look at it but do not eat. I also noticed what looked like white mucus that sloughed off the smaller clown this morning.

Any advice?

Ok I have them in a QT now, from the info I have found here compared to my maroons symptoms I will be doing a formulin dip.

Well the female did not make it either. I tried everything but I could not get her to eat. She never looked very thin so it had to have been something else. Formulin bath, hypo, nothing worked.

Bummed,

Sorry to hear you've lost them, Quickcord. I've currently got my new pair of Ocellaris in QT after a bit of a scare too. Mine haven't been eating much either and the male seems to be the worse off of the two.

I bought some frozen cyclop-eeze and that did the trick, they really went for it and it's small enough they could actually eat it. You should give it a shot with the next clowns, they seem to love it and it appears to be real good for them.
