New guys - baby Regal and Venustus

also think it is an age thing...Bradley also has pics that show this pattern shift...
mine has gotten a bit yellower..
will check pics...

Another thing, how long are the cheek spines on your venustus? Do those also get bigger with age?

mine has really short ones but i've seen others with much longer ones

I think it's an age thing. Todd's got some great pics of his, and how it changed over time.

Thanks.

Yeah, it seems to be fully an age thing, mine's yellow has greatly increased since I have had it.

June 2010 --- when I first received it (( DD section of LA ))

As for the spine, can sort of see it in this picture -- not all that long.

Those pics are just making me want one even more now. I'll be waiting all things considered. Thanks for posting them.

I am happy to report that the Regal is doing very well. Here is a short video of it eating. Anybody know how to sex these fish?

Wow! Really stunning fish.

great pics!

Thanks guys. Still working on a better/current picture.

It just might be my favorite fish -- the tank is near the dinning room, and that fish gets a bit irritated if we eat dinner before I fed it. It will go to the corner of the tank nearest the table and swim back and forth, and just plain look sad until I, at least, throw in some pellets.

Todd,

What rig and flash set-up are you using?

Thanks,
