New guys - baby Regal and Venustus

Here is a quick update on my Regal, he's seems to have taken a liking to my quarantine tank.

I'm waiting to start treatment for the time being in case I add anything else over the next week or so. The fish isn't showing any signs of parasites, so I'm in no rush to start anything.

Sorry for the cruddy pictures, I can't find the charger for my Canon.

Lots of PE mysis. It's also taken a liking to the LRS fish frenzy food. I'm yet ring to find some ON angel formula.

I soak the mysis in vita chem, selcon or angel elixir, but not all at the same time.

If he is eating PE mysis try mixing it with spirulina brine? Prazi pro has not ever stopped my fishes apetite while in QT. I like a freshwater dip also, but thats me. My last regal stayed for 20 minutes with no stress and was eating the next day. Others did not like it. But I normally place them in a freshwater dip before going into QT. Congrats on a good looking fish

I did do a FW dip as I am a huge fan of them. I've seen tons of flukes come off a fish and the condition of the fish improve drastically in a matter of ten minutes from performing dips like this.

I dipped the Regal for 10 minutes and he showed no ill side effects, I probably could have gone to 20. I didn't see anything coming off of him either.

Here's the back of him hanging out in a specimen container.

Usually prazipro dip works great for me .but My large scribble loss its appetite after 2 dips :(

While my new 2 baby regal graze on my cube reef non stop

Things are still going well, and I still have no signs of any parasite infestations, so I am going to hold off for one more week before starting treatment. I only have one QT, so if I begin treatment, that means no new fish for another 8 to 10 weeks.

If I don't order anything next week, I'll start up the Prazi at the end of the week, i'm still holding out though.

Quick update on this fish. It's still eating well, mostly mysis and the LRS fish frenzy.

It has developed a small reddish bump under the jaw on the left side. I'm not really sure what this is or how to treat this.

Anybody ever seen this type of bump or have a recommendation? I know...I need a picture, I'll try to get one tomorrow.

Here are a couple of pictures. I'm thinking about treating with Maracyn 2? I'm a complete novice when it comes to bacterial infections and treatments. Thoughts?

Sorry, that last one posted before I put the second picture in. This one is a little better shot of what's going on, though admittedly, neither is good.

Fuzzy but can see the red spot. I prefer furan 2, but maryacin 2 will work.. Being you have no current treatment in the tank I'd start antibiotic treatment. Make sure to go the full lengtg regardless of improvement.

I assume the directions are pretty straightforward.

I'll do some research on bacterial infections and treatments.

Thanks for the reply.

I've also had good results with Furan-2. If you suspect it's bacterial I would start treatment as quickly as possible.
