new hornet

I think its pretty clear on this one... I mean we can bash this thread all day long like a fat kid at summer camp...But i just wanna know why people think and i qoute "just because it has a ring doesnt mean its a hornet" they have something new...

Like to see a pic of someone that "bought" this zoa and thier pic of it.. not just the "sellers pic"

yes i agree id like to see some more pics to of someone that has them in there tank to compare them

Hey, check out my Brown Hornets.......LOL

call it your caribbean brown hornet. I am willing to bet you whatever you want that someone would pay a premium for it if it had a fancy name

Those are belladona's and don't command the price of a true hornet. those too me are just those newer deepwater or similar type polyps that resemble the Eagle eye or Whamming water mellons but just different colors Yellow with greenish and white center.

I just think the Bella's are just being hyped right now. IMHO

I think what it comes down to these days is that it has to be a "hornet" if it has an alternating skirt...people don't realize that alot of more common polyps have alternating skirts under good lights...take OPE or RPE they have alternating skirts...yet they don't sell for $100 a polyp. It's all about supply and demand I guess. The seller of these "Yellow Hornets" will do one of two things keep selling them at that price because people keep buying them or he will see people are on to his hype and not touch them.

Sometimes I wish they would just dump all the names and sell things based on pictures. If you take bad pictures, your frags sell for less. If you take nice pictures, and peopel are willing to pay for them, then that is what they are wroth. But I do understand the need and worth in naming them.

Alternating skirt, thin circle around the mouth and RESEMBLANCE to the ORIGINAL purple hornet, but just with different colors.

Just because the polyp has a circle on it like an eagle eye with some type of alternating skirt color doesn't deem it a hornet.

Yes it's all about advertising and general public knowledge, If ALL knew what a hornet was, how it's catagorized and what the real mckoy was you wouldn't have a problem. But being the capitalizing nation we are some take advantage of this fact. which is why you have a lot of " MIS-INTERPRETATION " ALTERED PICS, over saturation, photoshoped etc pictures out there for for sale threads. Striking while the iron is hot. Remember when Hornets were going for $200 a piece? OPE's going for a couple hundred etc... :lolspin:
