As the title says tomorrow we will closing on our new home so I figured why not start a thread covering the tank that is going to be moved and the plans for its future.

The tank is a 75g Oceanic RR, and currently is what I guess you would call a mixed reef it has a little of everything and has been set up for about a year and a half. About the tank I havent really been happy with it for a while and I see this as the perfect oportunity to do exactly what I want.

My plans are to convert the tank over to mostly SPS dominated a few LPS and Clams.Im hoping for some input on this because Im concearned about my current equipment and I know I may have to get some more.

Equipment list:

Euro Reef ES5-3 skimmer

Maxi-jet 1200 x 2 ( thinking about modding these )

Icecap 250w MH ballasts x 2 ,

XM 10,000k Bukbs x 2

T-5 True actinics 420 x 2 48 in. ( Yet to be installed but will happen on this move! )

Visi therm stealth heater ( I dislike this heater and need a better heater plan the visi therm already got stuck once and almost fried my tank )

Mag 5 return pump

Equipment I think its time to get:

Ranco temp controller with titanium heater

Milwaukee Ph monitor or controller not sure wich one to get.

Either mod my maxi jets or get some better flow somehow.

I think that is about it.

As far as maintaining water parimeters I have been able to keep everything pretty rock solid by

1: Dripping Calcium Hydroxide every night for top off

2: Using B- Ionic 2- part as needed

3: If needed add reef builder for alk and calcium chloride for Ca.

How does this sound for 75g SPS dominated tank.

Hopefully I can get a nice aquascape without pulling my hair out I plan to order about 30 lbs of live rock in adition to the rock I already have. Right now I dont believe I have a nice aquascape for SPS so when the new rock goes back in the tank I will probably drill plenty of holes for mounting frags.

Ive been thinking about where to put the tank but I dont want to be restricted by outlets in walls so I think I am going to get an electrition to come and install some more . Should I have them put in outlets with GFCI or regular oulets I heard the GFCI can trip often and become a problem let me know what you think.

Tommorow I will post plenty of pictures as the tank sits right now before I tear it apart.

Questions, comments, or advice is very much appreciated
