Is Tunze coming out with a new Hydrofoamer larger than the 9420.040?

Yes, as many of you are aware, the skimmer market has changed a great deal in the past few years. It used to be that the skimmers from the orient were of poor quality and were not in the same league as there US and European competition, this has changed mainly because they now use pumps that are made in Europe and are able to produce a decent skimmer at a lower price. Because of this we are reworking our larger skimmers to use fewer pumps and to include more molded parts to save on the cost of assembly labor. In late summer a new larger pump and revamped versions of the 9420-9480 will be available that will have much more competitive pricing.

dang, wish I had know this. I just bought a 9420 last week for my skimmer, and it was not cheap

The skimmer is 24 in high 12 dia with the two pumps in side the skimmer.
I can not give any pictures out because it is the only one up to now .The skimmer can take care of a 800 gal reef tank .

Sounds good. I can't wait to see the new skimmers and pumps. Do you have any data on the pump?

It is like having two 9420.04 in one pump

There are many new things on the exteral skimmer as ways to keep clean inside with out haveing any moving parts.

I don't think you will be disappointed though with the 9420. We run a 9440 on a maint account which works fantastic. One of the pumps had a problem and was removed and has been ran for a while with one pump making it a 9420.... still skimming like a champ.

My reef tank is in the back living room of are home and the Tunze skimmer set on a table buy the side of the reef tank .The Tunze skimmer duz not have the look of a skimmer more like a fine piece of furniture the only thing that looks different is a blue label with Tunze on it.
