I'm getting something like 46 gallons @ 1.026
I'm 100% sure that I saw this S.G. thing explained on a bag of their saltmix in the past.

No brown sludge here. Are you getting brown sludge with IO or RC?

i'm getting the sludge w/RC. my understanding is that it's harmless . it is annoying IMO . at $40 a bucket from the lfs it's not that bad (160 gallon). but i really should do the math. i think 160 gallons might be much less than advertised .

a lot of people confuse Instant Ocean with Reef Crystals and I've seen "sludge" threads with almost every brand of artificial saltmix I can think of.
