New Koralias soon...

Got tubes?
Hi all!

Don't have a ton of time, but long story short Aquatronica has just announced their Koralia controller for the Aquatronica. Also, apparently they manufactured Hydor's controller (and thus have a relationship close enough to make their own).

The latest rumor on the Aquatronica forum is that there will soon be new Koralias out... supposedly some larger sizes up to Koralia 8s!

I don't have anything solid on it (and thus I said "rumor" :) ), but just thought some of you may be interested.

I may give Sean a call and see what he's heard a little later.

cool has anyone tried the new koralias controllers.
Any pro's and con,s

I wonder if the aquatronica controller will be a 4 powerhead controller?

It is a 4 powerhead controller. :D And I'm pumped! I'm just worried its going to be rather expensive if they made the 2 channel and the 2 channel is like $300. I'd pay $300 for a 4 channel, but I don't want to pay much more. I think it was more expensive when it first came out. We'll see, though.

The biggest down-fall to the new ones is the controller price. Thats more than the Tunze controller, although the pumps are A LOT more expensive. I'm really hoping (and it seems like they're trying) that Hydor really gives Tunze a run for their money... and I think they are for the most part. They're definitely not the same thing, and Tunze are possibly a bit better, BUT for the money, the Koralias are becoming really hard to beat! :)

Anyway, I'll get off of my soap box now. If I get the new job I'm wanting, my tank may be seeing some wave action in a couple of months. :D

is that what i saw at emerald bay today?....i noticed it because they were in a different box than the ones i bought.....and the box said "controllable"......and i saw the controller too...it was priced at $379?.....they're cool, but i dont really need them...atleast not now anyways

Yeah, the new controllable ones have been out for a little while now. I'll be getting some hopefully in a couple of months when the Aquatronica Koralia module comes out, if its not too expensive. :D

Ultimately what I'm trying to say is that, according to the rumor, they're about to unleash some larger sizes. :)

One of the LFS in Clarksville has 2 of the new ones on a controller setup, it's pretty nice, I like it, but I cannot justify the price (and they want $479 for the 2 channel controller, and $108 for a #4).

HOLY COW! $479????? Thats got to be full retail or more! They're only $319 online! $108 for a 4 is RIDICULOUS as well! Good grief!

Ok, /rant. Sorry. :)

I thought when there was talk of a controller that the controller would work with the standard Koralias that most people already own. So, the fact that they don't is a bit of a fail... I certainly can't justify spending that amount on a controller when I'd also have to go out and "re-buy" a couple of Koralias. Not to mention that controlling only 2 wouldn't handle the number I have in my tank.

Yeah, I think at that price point (even $320 online), it should have 4 channels for sure. That, to me, would make the price a little easier to swallow. 2 channels just makes it kind of ridiculous.

A LOT of people have felt let down. There's a huge thread about it in one of the other forums... pretty crazy! I was certainly upset when I saw the price. I think when it first came out it was more expensive than $320, but I can't remember for sure.
