New LFS in Gardena- Harry's Marine

We went! And it is SO worth the drive! Owners were very nice and made our kids feel welcome. It has a warehouse feel to it, much like Reefhotspot, if anyone here remembers that place. Lots of corals, fish, inverts/CUC. Never seen so many angels and royal grammas in one place before! Happy to have another lfs/retail store in socal!

Did you happen to notice any four line wrasse or tail spot blennies?

Wholesaler backstabbing the Retailers who have supported him...wife and daughter making decisions are not good for business. All the LFS have been made aware of your opening to the public.....Good luck.

Most LFS do not buy here because the fish are not healthy.....shady business practices.
My name is Dina, I know Craig, his son, wife and daughter....will Not be back, ever.

That may have been true at one point but based on my observation, this is no longer the case. At least in regard to health. The vast majority of the fish appear healthy consistently with only a few large angels with Popeye and tangs with HLLE which is pretty common. I worked every aspect of the aquarium Biz for about ten years including managing a high volume LFS, and we bought stuff from Cortez regularly without incident.
They are no different than any of the other wholesale shops except for a Quality Marine who is a step above them all. Regarding shady business practices, business is business. All of the wholesalers (except QM) are run by opportunists who flirt with shady **** if it means they can make a quick buck. Unless there are actual laws being broken, it wouldn't give me pause. We're just buying fish and corals with them, not doing business deals, right?
Lastly, all of fish I've purchased thus far have been in excellent health and no sign of ich or anything. I didn't even QT them, just acclimated and dumped them in and they are great. I've got about six fish from them over the last three weeks and all are healthy and parasite free. Take it for what it's worth. Maybe you have some axe to grind here but It sounds pretty biased and I would take your word with a massive grain of salt.

They are on Yelp??? It's not a secret. Do you mind explaining why you are calling out the poor man's wife and daughter? At 20 post... And these types of comments, I'm not sure anyone will take you seriously.

Happy with Harry's

Happy with Harry's

I just wanted to give a shout out to Harry's. Since discovering them a few months ago, I have purchased a few fish (CBB and green file fish) and traded corals/zoas for others (2 Rainbow basslets, 2 pintail fairy wrasses, 1 Achilles tang and a gold tipped purple torch.

So far all fish have been very healthy and are happily in my display tank except 1 of the 2 CBBs I originally purchased (and I think the CBB death in quarantine was my fault). The purple torch is looking good and starting to split.

Both Harry and his dad, David have been very friendly and extremely helpful. This is definitely a place worth a visit. It has always been bustling when I go there, but well worth the wait.
