New Lfs?

Those of you in maryland heights are probably familiar with the iga that closed at fee fee and midland... Some one rehabed the store and reopened today.,. while checking it out i noticed that one of the other vacant stores in that strip mall had a few people working in it plumbing 2 walls of tanks. not sure anything about it salt fresh or what but lookslike we are about to have a new fish store in maryland heights.

If you guys remember Marty from Beldt's, he's opening a store over in that area that's supposed to be called Planet Reef. I know he had been working on an earlier opening date, but had some delays. I hadn't heard anything in the past week or so, so wasn't sure where he was at with it, but sounds like his secret is out.

I spoke with Nic from Zomania today and he ran into the owner at Lowes trying to find some various plumbing parts. I doubt it is Marty the owner because Nic said this guy was big in Real Estate-maybe after Marty left MS he made a fortune in home sales, but I doubt it! It will be an all saltwater store focusing on the more "hard to find corals/fish" as well as the basic stuff. It will also have a large aqua culturing facility in the back which is great for everyone. It will be open within a month. Anyway it is closer for me than MS and if they are doing it all out- the way I heard-it should be awesome and very big. Best of luck to them! Reeferwannabe that is less than 1 mile from your house! Open up the checkbook!

The wall of tanks looks very nice.... I didnt think that someone would open a fresh water store around here ... but wasnt sure... i am looking into the space thats available 2 doors down for a business venture of my own... I live approximately a half mile from there so that would be sweet. oh and yes the space is very large compared to most lfs and for what it is i would think the rent there would be rather cheap....

I work with Marty's wife. She told me about what he was doing back in early Nov.

It's a little longer than a mile from his house but who's counting. :lol: I live down the road from him so I'm really close too. Not a good thing for the checkbook.
