New Magnifica on a Cipro treatment. I think this one has a chance.

I was out of town so this nem was in the stores tank for 3 days before I got it. But I think it is looking pretty good.

Day one with me

Day two with me

And while this morning is just the start of day three, it looks pretty good I think.

What do the experts think?

Looks good. My mags did good with no feeding for the first week (some even 2). I just feed the tank and if he grabs something to eat then so be it. No target feed. I think most anemones need to expel completely once before you start jamming food down its mouth. Also, mags need to be observed more than your average nem. See how it reacts to each food. If he reacts bad (having hard time expelling) to certain food, I immediately discontinue use of that particular food. I've always had good luck with Brine, Mysis and Krill. I've had bad luck with market shrimp, Silversides and mussels.

Good luck!

I have no filtration in the tank he is in. Just doing 50% water change before each cipro treatment.

I was going to go 7 days cipro treatment then into my display where I am sure my clowns will feed it.

My clowns are greedy.. What they don't eat they spit it out far away from my mag. lol

Here's mine.

I'm going to finish out the treatment but I'm worried my clowns will smother it once I put it in my display.
I have 3 semi snowflake.

Are the clowns being hosted by a different nem in the tank?

They are hosting in a Duncan right now. That and a bta sometimes, but it's hardly the size of a baseball, not that it's opened up in a long time.
I wouldn't call the clowns much bigger than medium.

The magnifica is probably 9-10" opened up.

It should be fine.. I had clowns hosting a gbta when I introduced my mag.. the clowns observed it for a week or two before deciding to change nems.

I had a mag in the tank for a few days before I knew about the cipro and my clowns went to it almost in minutes.

Oh, that change things.. It seems mags are the most generous when it comes to hosting. If the clowns have been hosted by this mag, I'd suggest getting it back to health close to 100% before putting back into the DT.

Are your clowns aggressive to the mag? I had a pair of clowns that were really "understanding" when one of my nems got sick, they left it for another nem lol.

This is a new mag, the other one I had only lasted 4 days.
This mag looks great, it shipped well and is looking good, I'll snap a picture tonight.
Sunday will be day 7 on cipro for it.

The clowns aren't too aggressive, my Duncan still looks good, lol.

If I had any chance of catching my clowns I'd take them out for a week. But more than 300g and lots of rock it's near impossible.

Well, corals hosting and nem hosting is totally different. I had a clown host a Duncan before too and he was gentle, never bit it or roughed it up by nipping at its mouth. The same clown started hosting a RBTA and he went nuts!! Biting, roughing it up forcing it to unlatch from certain areas on the LR.

With all that said, if the nems are healthy and big enough, I really think clowns will help more than hurt the nems.

Got home a little later in the day than normal and it looked like this

Is that normal?

And then just before lights out (just before I started my water change and cipro addition it looked like this

Is this bad?

First thing this morning, with the power head off.

It looks great. But it seems like as the day goes on it looks worse? Does this mean I should leave it in the treatment longer?

If there seems to be a repetitive cycle of deflating as the day wears on, I would suspect the anemone may be responding to the lights. I've had mags shrivel when I used to use MH and would change the bulbs.
