Hey guys I order a new dc return pump so I'm going add a manifold to my return line but wanted some input from yall about how I plan to do it I'm very limited on space in my stand and not a long run of pipe in my return line so please take a look at the picture and see if this would really work or will I loose to much gph to the set up

Would you need a ball valve on the vertical section for water changes?

Also how much water will you change out through that port? Usually return pump chambers in a sump aren't very large.

i was going to back siphon the return line from the DT im guessing i could get about 5 gallons or more if i push my lock lines all the way down

This is a better solution... Have a sanitary T right above the pump then ball valves to control the water for reactors and so on ..

the Return to tank have it going as straight as you can and a ball valve on it to slow some its water to adjust for the reactors..

sorry for the 3 second crude drawing..

thanks for the reply i know that's how i should of done it but i am so limited on space under my tank that its kind of hard for me to fit stuff in it so i had to change the design and have the ball valve coming off the pump my pump is a 1710 gph dc pump so i don't think i should have much problems trying to run anything off the manifold but i guess only time will tell so far i open the third valve on the manifold with it running and had a good amount of pressure and flow from it
