Hey everybody. I got another mantis; this time, an orange one! I haven't seen anything like this before but I'm guessing it might be a Lysiosquilloides mapia ?

Here are some pictures of him acclimating.

What do you guys think?

Not Lysiosquilla, they have more triangular eyes. I believe that one is a smasher but the exact species I don't know. Good Luck, Beautiful mantis!

it is pseudosquilla ciliata. a spearer. the golden yellow morph is distinctive to this species. take a look at the eyes. they should have a pretty funky checkerboard pattern to them.

Ah yeah, that was my initial thought but I always though they were yellow, not orange.

Regardless, hes a pretty active mantis. Looks good!

Fed him some mysis and seems to slowly be accommodating to it. What food should/can I feed a spearer?
