New Maroon

I've had my single white bar maroon clown for about a year, she's about 2.5"-3" and just today I finally got her a partner (.75"-1" partner, assuming male). After acclimation he's in a net box hanging in the tank. The female has gone up to look a couple times but other than that there hasn't been much action. I'm so tempted to put him directly into the display but I think I'll give it at least until tomorrow. I made this thread to get a little advice, I've heard of tough maroon pairing situations and then I've heard of some really easy ones. So what do you think?

well i tried putting my new male (I think) in with my female today and she ripped his fins up pretty bad so i put her in a spaghetti strainer untill he heals and adjust to the new tank.

Unfortunately mine didn't make it.. I had him in a mesh box the first day and then a modified large gatorade bottle the next so she could see him. I think he slipped out of the bottle through a hole I made that was a little bit too large. I was out to lunch, came back and he had jumped out next to the tank. I'm 99% sure she chased him out. I think it would have worked had I not made the dumb mistake of making the holes too large... ;(

This sounds like a good idea, can she see him well enough though? I would think (correct me if I'm wrong) that it'd be best for the holder to be clear so she can still see him and get used to his presence (assuming your spaghetti strainer just has small very small holes with a solid color like mine ;) ).
