New Maxi...........

I bought a gorgeous blue,purple,green,and gold tear drop maxi.In the store our noticed that the front of the clam by his mouth seemed to be "pinching" and he was opening all the way,but it was the best looking clam i have seen in a long time colorwise.He looks the same in my tank as in the store not fully opening and pinched on the front mantle.....Is there anything i can do to help save this wonderful clam???
