Hello everyone! I am so glad that I found you. I am brand new to this hobby unless you can count a 50g freshwater aquarium we have at my house when I was a little kid. I set up my 29g bio cube a month ago tomorrow. I have about 20lbs of lr, 10lbs of ls, a clownfish, and the beginning of a clean up crew. You can check out pictures in my gallery. Because I live in Oakdale I was hoping you could suggest the best LFS in both Stockton and Modesto. Thanks!

Welcome to the club. I like the island look of your cube, don't worry it'll be covered by corals soon enough

yup he is chillin inside the big corner rock nearest the overflow. He hasn't come out of the rock since we took those couple of pictures in the very beginning LFS guy said that thats fine so long as he is bright blue and moving around a little bit... he is just stressed out. But I am worried about him and I hope he is going to make it.... even though he is not supposed to be in there yet.

Welcome aboard! Looks like a good start, nice size tank to start with too.
Has your tank cycled yet? If it's as new as it looks the LFS guy did you wrong by selling you the fish. One of the first lessons everyone in this hobby learns (or should learn) is - unless you have built a good relationship with your LFS you have to be very careful about taking any advice they give you. That's why we're here though, so feel free to ask questions or get a second opinion from the folks in the club.

Thanks for your input Jacob... I mentioned on the website tat the Blue Tang was a bit of an accident... Kind of a funny story actually 
) The night we went to pick up the Live Rock we were in a bit of a hurry cause the store was trying to close and in the process of collecting the rock, and placing it all in buckets for transport, the tang was caught in a rock and transported DRY to our home 30 minutes away! Crazy! We noticed him over two hours later once he dislodged himself from the rock...
First thing we did was call Ted, our LFS guy, at almost 10pm! He said it wasn't ideal but we were worried that trying to catch him would cause even more stress to the fish and be close to impossible at that. So we decided that keeping him for the time being would be his best shot. The next day the LFS guy brought us food and a live plant as food for the tang, after he'd closed his store. Couldn't tell you how helpful and knowledgeable he's been... Not to mention the lowest prices we've seen thus far...
Back to your first question... Yes, the tank is cycled. We started the tank with Live sand, Live rock and water from an established tank and didn't really experience a cycle at all.

FYI ~ Little update on the nameless Tang... He is doing MUCH better! He's now moving around a lot more and eating quite energetically... Good news
I myself was born and Raised near the ocean in South Africa. When Ryan came up with this idea for a reef tank it was like getting a little piece of Home to put in the livingroom. I've kept and sold Freshwater fish from South American and African Cichlids to Bettas and Livebearers for over Ten Years but never ventured into Saltwater.
So basically, we'd appreciate all the input you can give us and would love to share our adventure
