New meteor shower

Stumbled upon a meteor shower at a new LFS. I have always wanted one and picked this pingpong ball sized one up for 50 bucks.

Do you think that was a fair price?
Does any one have one. I would like some info or advice on caring for them.

I paid 20 for a 1" frag at a local swap so it seems fair. They don't seem to require much light or flow

Thanks Betamed, After an hour in the tank some of the polyps were gaping open so I was a little worried . I shut off the light to help it's acclimation. It has been several hours and it looks OK now.
Any pics of your's , have you noticed much growth since you have had it?

Congrats. They are fairly easy to care for. Mod light is fine, but seem to do okay with low and even high light. They don't like low alk.

I have 216W of T5's on a standard 55G and I think I am going to have to keep him in the shadows for now and slowly pull him out!

Don't have pic, but its the same color as yours. Growth has been slow for me. Place it on a surface to encrust to help growth

mine was weird, when i put it on the bottom of my tank it lost all its color and when i put it closer to the top it bleached but in the middle it grow like a week and looks great. thats my experience haha.

My MS has encrused very quickly. My lighting is LEDs. When I changed from one watt to primarily three watt, the teal base color faded on the top part of the rock. The encrusted side of the rock maintained it's rich teal coloring, more blue then green. It is still spreading with the more intense lighting but it definitely looks better in moderate light and flow. Currently 72w of LEDs on 10g nano.

This is a beautiful coral and I am getting another color variation of cyphastria for my new 35g shallow display tank.

Be sure to post a pic of your new one ,Kevin.

Well it seems to be getting more acclimated. Yesterday the polyps were flared out more then I had seen so far and no more gaping mouths. In a day or two I will slowly start moving it out of it's cave.

Well it has been opening up more and looking better. It seemed to have lost a little color during acclimation but now that I am giving it more light I think it will start to brighten up.

I am reposting the original pic to compare the two better

Update
It has been just over a year so I thought I would post some recent pics to show growth. It is spreading nicely . I am tempted to frag it but I am hoping to cover the whole rock first. There is a lot of growth behind the original colony too
Love these corals , these pics do not do them justice!
