new Nano

In order to house the few cute little frags I couldn't part with when taking down my 150, I set up a minibow 7 at my office.

It has a powerhead lying on the bottom for circulation, and a coralife light fixture with a single 96 watt pc bulb. For heat I have a terrarium style pad heater stuck to the back connected to a temp controller. That's it! I'm doing a gallon a week water changes for water purity.

A reef really can be cheap.

As far as problems, so far I'm having a bit of red slime, despite that the tank gets NO feeding and its a bare bottom. Either nutrients from the recently relocated liver rock, or leached from the buckets I keep the salt water in. So far its not bad. A bit of trouble maintaining temperature- it was getting too hot during the day but I raised the light a bit and now it seems fine.

I'll take some pics after it grows in a bit...

Nope! Just a little coral garden. I might consider some teeny fish or shrimp in the future though, once I'm sure its a robust system...

Your tricolor acro, purple bonsai, another acro with red polyps, superman monti, the purple encruster we got at MACNA (I thought I killed both those but they recovered in the nano), watermelon chalice, bright red chalice, bright green calustrea, tubs blue zoos, some cool orange zoos from atlantis, pink zoos, orange crush echinata, orange ric florida, green sarcs... and I guess that's about it!

Damn dude, that's a lot of stuff in a 7! Must look pretty nice.

Maybe one day I can have a piece of that tri color back. ;)

No green digi? I can give you a piece if you'd like. :D

The tricolor was hurting but its looking better now. The only problem is this PC bulb is wicked foogly. I started with the coralife sells, then tried one hellolights insisted would be prettier, but it isn't.

VHO and T5s are great, but I'm less than thrilled with PC colors, at least in this bulb type.

Dan - I can't wait for pictures! What does foogly mean ? - I think I am having the same problem. I am glad you included those green sarcs - still and all my favorite coral in my nano.
