I would like to have one of those over my 28.From what I read on rc they are always on back order. Those who do have them are really like the dimmable feature.

I wonder if the PAR value is the same as MH light. I read an article from someone who tried them all but still prefers MH for growth. So besides the shimmer, lower energy cost and looks, does it make acro and cypha and duncan and blasto, and most of all , the red polyped monti happy??
Merry Christmas to all

I believe it is comparable to halide until you get deep in the tank. If you have a taller tank with high demand animals on the bottom, then halide is your best bet. Corals, clams, and other inhabitants should do well though you may have to put high light demand coral a little higher depending on the LEDs and depth of your tank. I think halide still provides the fastest growth, but it just depends on what you are looking for. Maybe members with LED lighting will have more info for you.

I agree with Marcus,it is hard for leds to go down to 24'' or more.I am sure if you got $$$ you can get some that will reach to that depth.
